There are many models and specifications of LED chips:
There are too many models of LED chips, including direct-insert type, SMD type, and high-power lamp bead type. The lamp bead current ranges from tens of milliamperes to several amperes, and the voltage is relatively consistent, mostly above three volts, so there is no way to generalize.
Roughly speaking, they are divided into direct-insert type, SMD type, and piranha type according to the package, and divided into high, medium, and low power according to the power.
High-power white LED (such as CREE’s XML-T6) has a single power of 10W, a voltage of 3.3v, and a current of 3A. Low-power red LED (such as the common 5MM direct-insert type) has a voltage of 2v and a current of 15mA. If you really can’t find the component model, you can infer the working voltage based on the light color:
Red light 1.8~2.2v
Yellow light 2.0~2.4v
Green light 2.2~2.8v
Blue and white light 2.8~3.5v
SMD package is 0805, 1206 and other low-power tubes, the working voltage is 10mA, but there are exceptions;
SMD package is 3014, 3528, 3535 and other low-power tubes, the working current is 20~50mA, but there are exceptions;
SMD package is 5050, 5060, 5630 and other medium-power tubes, the working current is 50~150mA, but there are exceptions;
High-power LEDs are all SMD packages, and the parameters of different brands and company series vary greatly; but the general working current of the nominal 1W is 350mA
Low-power direct-plug LED chip are generally divided into models according to diameter, 3mm 4mm 5mm 8mm 10mm 12mm, regardless of the diameter, the working voltage and working current are the same, color classification: red light
yellow light 1.7–2.1V
white light blue light warm white light pink light purple light 2.8–3.6V
green light 2.6–3.4V
LED chips have a variety of specifications
1. 0.06W, voltage 2.5-3.5V, current 20mA.
2. 0.5W, voltage 2.5-3.77V, current 150mA.
3, 1W, voltage 2.79-3.99V, current 350mA.
4, 3W, voltage 3.05-4.47V, current 700mA.
5, 5W, voltage 3.16-4.88V, current 1000mA.
1W lamp bead current: 320-350mA, the driver generally chooses 300mA current, and the chip size is 30mil, 35mil, 40mil, and 45mil.
3W lamp bead current: 700mA, the driver generally chooses 600mA, and the chip size is 45mil.
1W and 3W voltages are between 3.0-3.6V, and 3.2-3.4V is better.
As for a single 5W chip, the chip is generally more than 50mil.
LED chip for general lighting are 0.5w-5w, and the operating voltage is around 3-3.2V.
What are the parameters of 1-watt white light LED lamp beads? We generally design them to be 3.6—4.2V, 0.2—0.3A. There are many 15W lamp beads now, you can refer to them. For example, cree mce, cree t6.
Voltage: 3.2-3.6v, current 300-350ma, luminous flux: 100-120 lumens, color temperature: white light 6000-7000K.
Methods to identify LED chips are:
1. Look at the brightness, that is, the brightness when the driving current is 350mA and the voltage is between 3.0-3.6V. The higher the better.
2. Look at the chip brand. There are many LED chip brands on the market. It is very important to choose a reliable chip company
3. Look at BIN, that is, color temperature partition and voltage BIN, the finer the better.
4. Look at attenuation. Aging test is required. The smaller the light attenuation, the better.
5. Look at the actual application, such as: it is good to have suitable and cheap lenses and aluminum substrates on the market. If the lens and aluminum substrate need to be molded, the investment will be large. 1W high power, current: 350ma, voltage: 2.8-4.0V brightness: 80-130LM color temperature: 3000-12000K.
