LED chip models and specifications. As someone in the LED chip industry, even if you are not familiar with it, you must have a certain understanding of LED chips. Let me introduce it to you.
LED chip models
There are too many models of LED chips, including direct-insert type, SMD type, and high-power LED chips. The current of LED chips ranges from tens of milliamperes to several amperes, and the voltage is relatively consistent, mostly around three or four volts. According to the LED package, it is divided into direct-insert type LED and SMD type LED; according to the power, it is divided into high, medium and low power.
High-power white light LED (such as CREE’s XML-T6) has a single power of 10W, a voltage of 3.3v, and a current of 3A. Low-power red light LED (such as the common 5MM direct-insert type) has a voltage of 2v and a current of 15mA.
The SMD package is a low-power light-emitting diode such as 0805, 1206, and the working current is generally 10mA, but there are exceptions. The SMD package is for low-power LED tubes such as 3014, 3528, 3535, and the operating current is generally 20~50mA, but there are exceptions; the SMD package is for high-power LED tubes such as 2835, 5050, 5060, 5630, and the operating current is generally 50~150mA, but there are exceptions;
High-power LEDs are all SMD packages, and the parameters of different brands and series of different companies vary greatly; but the general operating current of the nominal 1W is 350mA.
Low-power direct-insert LED chips are generally divided into models according to diameter, 3mm 4mm 5mm 8mm 10mm 12mm. Regardless of the diameter, the operating voltage and operating current are the same.
LED chip specifications:
(1) 0.06W, voltage 2.5-3.5V, current 20mA.
(2) 0.5W, voltage 2.5-3.77V, current 150mA.
(3) 1W, voltage 2.79-3.99V, current 350mA.
(4) 3W, voltage 3.05-4.47V, current 700mA.
(5) 5W, voltage 3.16-4.88V, current 1000mA.
1W LED chip current 320-350mA. The driver is usually 300mA. The LED chip size is 30mil, 35mil, 40mil, 45mil. The 3W LED chip current is 700mA, the driver is generally 600mA, and the LED chip size is 45mil.
The voltage of 1W and 3W is between 3.0-3.6V, and the better ones are 3.2-3.4V. As for the 5W single LED chip, it is generally above 50mil. Other parameters are unclear. The LED chip used for general lighting is between 0.5w-5w, and the working voltage is about 3-3.2V.
There are several ways to identify LED chips:
1. Look at the brightness, that is, the brightness when the driving current is 350mA and the voltage is between 3.0-3.6V. The higher the better.
2. Look at the BIN, that is, the color temperature partition and voltage BIN. The finer the better.
3. Look at the attenuation. Aging test is required. The smaller the light attenuation, the better.
4. Look at the actual application. For example, it is good to have suitable and cheap lenses and aluminum substrates on the market. Lenses and aluminum substrates need to be molded, and the cost will be higher. 1W high power, current: 350ma, voltage: 2.8-4.0V brightness: 80-130LM color temperature: 3000-12000K.
